| Adventure Program
Swan Travel
invented the adventure program for travelers to discover the off-the-beaten
path.
For our adventure program, we run small groups
from 4-22 people. We provide more flexibility for traveler. Such
as our half-board service during the journey, which means that we
arrange breakfast and lunch for the group, but client can either
join the daily dinner with group or arrange on their own.
Swan Travel offers a total of four adventure programs
which include “Exploring Ethnic Groups in Guizhou and Guilin”.
This program will show you the real ethnic group’s life. We
will arrange village stays, soft walking tours as well as attending
festivals and local markets. Program two is named “A Sacred
Buddist Land”. In this journey, we join pilgrims on their
pilgrimage trail around the Taer and Longwu monastery, two very
well-respected monasteries in Tibet. We admire some of Tibet’s
most respected art-work at the Wutun and Nanliandu monastery, spending
time with master painters and lamas as we understand the process
to draw such beauties. We drive and hike through Tibetan villages,
unusual danxia terrain, to reach Nanzhong nunnery, a spiritual retreat
far removed from the materialistic and daily chores of today’s
world. In the midst of nuns and monks, we understand how Tibetan
Buddhism was maintained here in the face of hostility and through
our discussions, understand the meaning of Buddhism and peace. Program
three is about the famous “Silk Road”. The tour is classified
as intense touring with various activities, such as camping, moderate
hiking, birding, local family visits, and cave art studies. It can
be moderately physically demanding though anyone in good health
and fair physical shape should be able to complete the program.
The tour involves some long drives and long days which are tiring.
A moderate amount of steep slope walking will be done (very slowly).
It will be quite hot during the day on our two days on the edge
of the Tarim Basin, and cool in the evening. Accommodation ranges
from excellent in Xi’an and Urumqi, to modest and basic in
other towns and county. Our last adventure tour is “Pushing
China’s Western Frontier-Western Sichuan.” This is the
heart of China’s Wild West, a region perfectly described by
the Chinese proverb “The sky is high and the Emperor is far
away.” We will experience the rough-and-tumble market outposts
and stark, peaceful wilderness of the plateau, joined on our journey
by local Tibetan villagers, Buddhist pilgrims, and nomadic Yak herding
cowboys. Leaving Sichuan’s provincial capital in the Yangtze
River valley for one of the world’s highest and most remote
regions, we visit an area where few Han Chinese and even fewer international
travelers have ever set foot.
